Our asset finance also includes carbon offsetting, which we believe is unique in the UK market. more Who We Are Bridgegreen was conceived in order to provide a very practical way of accessing funding for low carbon technologies. We researched the whole area of inductrial and commercial CO2 emissions and recognised that encouraging the use of lower emissions vehicles, and stimulating demand for renewable energy technology, using conveniently packaged and cost effective finance was an extremely effective means of encouraging business to pursue a low carbon path. We are working with businesses from both the ’green' sector and those from the wider business community that wanted to reduce their environmental impact. We hope that Bridgegreen are one of a new generation of businesses that can signpost a path to a more sustainable future. I have spent most of my business career working in the automotive and finance industries. In the last decade or so I have become more and more concerned about the state of our environment and our prospects for the future. This made me re-think my priorities and decide to set-up Bridgegreen. I firmly believe that business will be the main mechanism for delivering the low carbon economy, and that we should not be hesitating in throwing ourselves headlong into the challenge. The risks of not tackling climate change far outweighs the uncertainties of venturing onto a different economic course. We already have enough knowledge and technology (both high and low tech) to enable us to make significant cuts in CO2 emissions. What we have to increase is our willingness to pursue these alternatives. Whilst the scale of the problem and the complexity of the task may seem daunting, I hope that Bridgegreen can help to provide sensible and straightforward advice and cost effective finance solutions, to enable businesses to make informed decisions. In the last industrial revolution access to finance was critical to the development of our industries and economy. Whilst the focus this time round is quite different, the scale of the change is not. In this next eco revolution working with finance organisations that understand the issues, and can see the opportunities, will be just as important.
